Gerda Curd. That's what my editor and publishers want my pen name to be. But Gerda isn't even a cheese, and my book isn't even solely about cheese! I mean it sounds like Gouda...I guess...why do I need a pen name?

I've finally decided on a menu for our first cooking class! Just to remind everyone, here are the details:

When: Wednesday, November 12th at 19:00 (It should go no later than 21:30)
Where: The Catchy and Creations Café Kitchen (you can floo or apparate to the shop and there will be signs leading you to the kitchen)

Please leave your name here if you plan on attending so that I can gather the ingredients. And if you are allergic to anything at all, please please please let me know. The same goes for any food that you absolutely hate.

Secondly, Happy Halloween! It's such a silly holiday, but I think holidays are wonderful, silly or no. While playing with Gideon's nephew, Charlie (he's eight), I discovered the cutest way to pass out candy, so I thought I'd share it with anyone who is interested.

Your candy is a lollipop, and what you do is cover the (still wrapped) lollipop with two white coffee filters and tie an orange ribbon around it right where the lollipop ends. Then, you take a marker and make two eyes, and POOF! You have a ghost. This is what Charlie's looked like:

Isn't that precious? So try it if you like, I'm giving plenty away at the shop! Happy Halloween!

So it's been settled! A cooking class there will be! I'm thinking once a week, how're Wednesday evenings for everyone? For two or three hours?

First class is free and then the following ones are 1 galleon to pay for ingredients. Sound good to anyone interested?

There is nothing better than a spontaneous (surprise!) weekend vacation in the countryside with your boyfriend and your puppy.

Also, on a completely separate note, I think it's dreadful that anyone would suggest that someone eats puppies. Nobody eats puppies, that is just cruel and unusual.

I just finished up a cake for a client's birthday tomorrow, and Caradoc had asked to see it, so I figured I might as well show all of you since I'm rather proud of it. So Caradoc, this is for you, and I hope the rest of you enjoy!

What a weekend. If I see anymore red ink, I think I'm going to scream. Who'd have thought that so many things could be edited in a recipe? I guess it's all for the best though, and I want the book to be the best it can be, so I should stop complaining. Still, once it's done, if I never see red ink again, I'll be a very happy camper.

My editor said we're still on track for a release sometime in December (yay!) so the book will be out for the Christmas season. The hard part is done, so now all I have to do is write the dedication, acknowledgments, pick the cover, and keep fixing the edits I get back. I still can't believe I'm getting a book published, mum would die my parents would have been so proud.

Anyhoo, I was thinking, you know, in honor of the book and all, and since I really like teaching, what would you lot think if I offered a weekly cooking class? Would anyone be interested?
